Please read the information on this page to help you decide which style of weave is best suited for the item desired. Also to know how to measure the exact area where the basket is to fit into.
ALL BESPOKE BASKETS ARE TO BE PAID FOR IN FULL IN ADVANCE.
BEFORE THEY CAN BE PRODUCED AND DELIVERED OR COLLECTED.
There is a +/- 1" = 2.5cm tolerance on all sizes shown
Single rod weave the strongest of all weaves but is the most time consuming. As you have to run one rod totally out before putting the next willow rod in.
Bunched together 4/5 rods at a time. A quicker weave as you get to the top a lot faster, still very strong. Some people prefer the look of this weave.
Fitched weave is used for more open plan baskets, that you might want to see through or let a lot of light in to a room such as a conservatory.
1/ Shape : Oval , Round , Square , Rectangle etc
2/ Rough Measurements in INCHES : To within 1" either side.
3/ Type of Weave : They have different strengths as well as looks
If you have not chosen a weave I will quote for the cheapest weave the SLEWED.
Please note that: With small or difficult or unusual shaped baskets only the more expensive wrave the randed style is recommended. So as to be able to keep the shape and size required much more easily.
I require the actual size of the space in inches NOT the size of the basket required. This is to make sure that your item will fit in to the space you intend. Usually bespoke baskets have a tolerance of an inch either side of your baskets measurements. As they are not cut out and stuck together like in woodwork, the material differs in length and thickness etc.
+/- 1" (2.5cm) There is normally this tolerance on all dimensions
Bespoke baskets are made with this tolerance in mind, they are generally made to the exact size needed. Or slightly smaller to make sure the item fits within the actual space dimensions after normally discussing these requirements with the customer
I will take on very unusual orders most basketmakers will not attempt. Such as bespoke Hamper for the back of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for the London Palladium
I have also made lots of baskets for different TV & Film studio prop companies.
Also in our past I produced and delivered a full range of baskets to Harrods Pet Department. This only goes to prove the excellent workmanship and personal service I provide to all our customers.
